Today WordPress announced the released of the version 2.8.1 which is mainly a security and bug fixes release.
It fixes many bugs inlcuding dashboard memory usage issue encountered by some users and fixes some security issues like visibility of the admin pages of some plugins even if the person is not logged in.
This release also improves the automatic update process by not deleting your files accidently when clearing up from a failed upgrade.
You can download the latest version from WordPress.org. Or you can upgrade from the admin panel automatically. Make sure to backup your files and database before trying automatic/manual upgrade of WordPress to version 2.8.1
