Apple has finally released it’s new iOS 4 (which was formerly termed as iPhoneOS 4) for all the supported devices including iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2nd and 3rd Generation. Although some of the features are not supported by iPhone 3G and iPod 2nd Generation.
The new release for the Apple iOS firmware has over 100 new features including but not limited to multitasking, unified inbox, folders, ibooks, game center and iAd. The Apple iOS 4 will be pushed for Apple iPad later this year.
To get the new iOS 4 on your apple device you need to download iTunes 9.2 from the Apple website (or upgrade your current one) and connect your device with your computer / laptop. Click update adn there you go! (make sure that this will lock any unlocked and / or jailbroken iPhones / iPads).
However the update for iOS 4 is being rolled out slowly to users all accross the world. So if those of you who can’t wait, here are the direct links for the iOS 4 for iPhone and iPod touch :
Once you have successfully downloaded the firmware for your device, hit the update button while holding the Alt / Option key and browse the file you just downloaded to install it on your device.
Again, those who are using unlocked / jailbroken versions via Ultrasn0w or Blacksn0w to enable the cellular data service on their iPhone devices should not upgrade this version until the unlocking is released for it by dev team.
