Facebook was banned in Pakistan on 19th of May 2010 after they broke their own term of service and lead to the massive 
rage against them in the Muslims all around the world. Saudia Arabia, UAE and Pakistan officially banned facebook in the country along with a mutual boycott of the facebook by the Muslims all around the world.
Today Facebook access has been restored by the Pakistan Telecommunication authority. The decision of unbanning the social media site was made by the court on the second hearing today which banned them on 19th May 2010.
I have no idea how important facebook is in the progress of a nation, as i don’t see any facebook officially allowed in the rapidly progressing China . . .
