However I think I have cracked it by un-installing Norton 360. Having said that the next problem I am encountering is when I type something into Google Search Engine, I click the page I want to open, but then it redirects me to a totally different page???

what error do you get when trying to login to these sites? because i am using ie8 on windows 7 (similar to vista in some sense) and it’s not giving any errors

however, did you try to download any alternate browser like google chrome or mozilla firefox and tried to open these sites in them?

I have also recently installed IE8 on a vista system, since the install I have not been able to access my hotmail and facebook account (to name a few). I have tried the above but to no joy. I have also been onto the Java website and can confirm that I do have the latest updates install.

Could really use your help on this one.

are you sure that you have installed the latest flash player?
