which files need permissions? well there is big list of files!

did you try the manual upgrade?

I did find / -name php.ini and noted that the memory limit in this file was 128M. However, I typically have ~100MB physical memory free on VPS. Surely this is enough for the upgrader to work? I’m running Plesk 9 on CentOS.

As for directory permissions, I’d be very grateful if you’d be more specific as to which files need which permissions for the upgrader to work.

make sure that the directory permissions are writeable and the php memory limit is not too low

this probably due to your server settings too, try the manual upgrade if you are unable to do it automatically. If you want professional service from me, do let me know.

My 2.8 – 2.9 upgrade hangs at the unpacking stage. Any ideas? Thanks
