jQuery.com has announced the availability of the latest version jQuery 1.6 for the users.
There are many changes made to the jQuery core and many bugs fixed. There are various new features introduced too.
According to official website they have already started working on the next version jQuery 1.7 and are welcoming suggestions from the community for the features that should be included.
The new version 1.6 of jQuery has a size of 88.3kb as compared to 83.9kb jQuery 1.5.
There are many performance improvements to the jQuery code too.
However, before using this new version of jQuery on your live website, make sure your plugins and code works with the new release as many things have been changed.
