uTorrent not installing on El Capitan [SOLVED]

Today I was trying to install utorrent on my macbook pro running mac os x el capitan. However there was an error saying “could not initialize the installer“:

utorrent-el-capitan

Tried installing again, still the same error! Upon googling, I figured out that it’s a quite common issue out there and most people were suggesting that we should move to any other torrent client like transmission probably.

However, we don’t need to! I finally made utorrent to work perfectly on my macbook pro running mac os x 10.11 el capitan, here’s how!

How to run utorrent on mac os x el capitan

Instead of downloading the default version available at the homepage of utorrent, we need to download the last beta version, available next to the latest one.

You can get it by going to this page directly: http://www.utorrent.com/intl/en/downloads/mac and downloading the 2nd link from the list with the heading: utorrent beta

Or through this direct link: http://www.utorrent.com/intl/en/downloads/complete/os/osx/track/beta

Hope it helps! :)
